The biblical tithe is not the same as money. As commanded in the Bible, Deuteronomy 14:22-27 explains the Lord required the ancient Hebrew Israelites to bring ten percent of their crops and livestock as an offering.
This offering was received by Levites serving in God’s temple to provide for their needs (Deuteronomy 18:1-8). The Lord’s tithes were to be blessed and shared among the Levites, foreigners living among them, orphans, and widows. This tithe was always food and drink, not money.

Everything Is Money
“You taught that the biblical tithe is a tenth of the land produce, not money. I am not sure you can separate land ownership and produce from money.
The land is the source of all monies, silver, gold, etc. So when you tithe the increase or produce of the land, this is money in another form.”
A Biblical Perspective
