Making it Rain on the Preachers

IN THIS VIDEO, I explore the practice of “making it rain” on the preachers.  Making it rain is a common practice in strip clubs.  It is a slang term for throwing wads of money at strippers.  I’ve noticed that this same type of practice takes place in the church.  Instead of throwing money at strippers, church folk throw money at the preachers.

What’s up with that?

Why do folks run up to the pulpit and throw money at the preachers’ feet or place money in the preacher’s hand?

Are they show-boating and just want to be seen “blessings” the “man or woman of God.”?

Do they believe that giving the preacher money, they’ll receive that preacher’s anointing?  Or God will give them a double, triple or quadruple blessing?

Do these folks just get emotionally caught-up in the moment, and throw money at the preachers because he or she said something that stirred them?

Let’s talk about what the church doesn’t want you to talk about.

I don’t believe the people really know what they are during when they, as you say, make it rain on the preacher. for one thing, in my opinon, they are making Idols od these so call preachers. I really don’t believe that a true man of God will allow are even expect the church of the living God to fall to this foolishness. R. Renee, just wanted you to knoe that I just got your book on “The Tithing Hoax” and it is great. Keep telling the truth.

Yes I’m guilty I did this one time . There was a pastor that I watched on TV that came to town. The reason I did it was because I really liked his style or preaching, but I realize that it was not a wise thing to do and through much studying and praying it was in vain

The practice most likely derived from Acts 4:32-37. Verse 37 says Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
And I believe that the reason they do it is from all the reasons you mentioned. Different people have different reasons. However I would believe that they should feel somewhat uncomfortable, but if they do not have a true sense of who Christ is, by studying the word, they will do anything the Pastor tell them to do.

They have lost their reverence to the things of GOD, so they bring their worldly attitude to the house of GOD. Pure and simple.
