Blessings for Sale

Selling Blessings

Prosperity preachers often exploit the faith of their followers by making them think they can ‘buy’ blessings from God. This is done by instructing believers to put large donations into their church as a sign of faith, implying that this will lead to material rewards.

As appealing as this message may sound, it ultimately misleads believers and creates false expectations of wealth, riches, and prosperity. The truth is that God’s promises are not tied to money. The true reward comes from living according to the word of God and cultivating strong relationships with him and others.

The Price Paid for Blessings

PROSPERITY GOSPEL AND Pro-Tithe preachers claim you can’t buy blessings.  However, when they tell Christians to tithe, they suggest Christians can buy blessings from God with their so-called tithes.

Why?

Because money conveys the message that you want or need something. We give the money in return for what you need and want.

The bottom line is that modern-day tithing is paying God money in return for a blessing.

This is not biblical.
